On a walk through the woods, I noticed this wild male mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) resting and snoozing by a water stream, waiting for his partner. It seemed like it was under “strict orders to wait right there” as it let me approach quite closely without flinching at all. The moment the partner flew in, they both swam swiftly downstream. Photo was taken early morning in Oakville, Ontario, Canada at Spring time.
